Multi-talented student passionate about charity

The first time I met, Hoang Le Kien surprised me with his height of nearly 1m90, healthy and strong skin, but extremely warm and emotional voice. Talking with Kien, I learned that Kien is a student in grade 11I1, Chu Van An High School – a famous school with a long history of achievements in Hanoi.

For 10 consecutive years, Kien has won the title of excellent student. Besides, since childhood, Kien has had an endless passion for books. Kien often works with students in the C-Library Collaborative Team to clean, rearrange bookshelves, organize exhibitions with teachers at the Octagon House and the library of Chu Van An High School.

Selling lucky money to support disadvantaged children

In the days approaching the 2022 Lunar New Year, when the Covid-19 epidemic was complicated, Kien came up with the idea of making red envelopes to sell to raise funds and support children in difficult circumstances.

Kien shared: “Since childhood, my mother took me to the Social Protection Institute, facing many difficult circumstances in remote areas. It can be said that the person who inspires and inspires charity for me is my mother. Now that I’m older, I feel fortunate to always have my mother accompanying me, supporting and supporting me in all activities.”

The idea flashed in his head, with the support of his mother, Kien began to implement the plan. After having the design on the computer, Kien shared the plan on social networking platforms such as Facebook, Zalo…, received the first orders and started sending to the printer.

With the main image being the tiger of the year of the Tiger, Kien and 2 classmates successfully designed 5 lucky money patterns. Sharing with a reporter from Dan Viet Electronic Newspaper, Kien said that designing images is the most difficult and time-consuming step.

After 1 week, more than 8,000 red envelopes were sold out and collected a total of 20 million VND. Kien and his classmates decided to bring that money and buy gifts for disadvantaged students at the National Children’s Institute.

“There are a lot of difficult and unlucky situations in society right now. I myself am just a small individual. Once a child, I understand and empathize, so I want to make a contribution to help the children have a warmer Lunar New Year season. Due to the complicated epidemic situation, I regret that I can only send gifts, not directly. But I believe that the children will be happy and happy when they receive gifts,” Kien confided.

“Charity is meaningful, but it’s not a simple thing, even it takes a lot of effort..”

In addition to the design of red packets, Kien actively calls and participates in charity activities of the residential area Kien lives, calling to buy bookcases for disadvantaged students in Dao San, district. Phong Thuy, Lai Chau province, participates in supporting the program “Warm winter in the highlands” called by NTNN Newspaper/Dan Viet Electronic Newspaper.

Giang Huyen – Kien’s mother shared: “Kien is a boy who is always willing to participate in volunteer activities. Kien is not afraid to stand up to call and create activities and projects to raise funds even though the time is short and urgent. I want my children to work for themselves to earn money to support, limit asking parents. As a mother, I always support Kien to do jobs that are appropriate for her age.”

Although he was young, he was fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in many charity activities. For Kien, volunteering is not an easy task and even a hard work, takes a lot of effort.

Kien said, during last year’s lucky money sale, Kien also faced many difficulties in the process of counting the number of orders, sending orders…. But identifying this as meaningful action and work, Kien always tried Try to overcome difficulties, choose a job that suits your ability.

In the future, the 11th grader hopes that besides studying, he can do many good things, help many less fortunate circumstances, and become a useful citizen.

Hopefully, the fire of kindness will grow with Kien day by day, spreading to everyone around, becoming a shining example for friends his age to follow.
