This collaboration series was launched at the DSM Beijing store on March 2, including branded Pre-loved bags, all newly created by the British duo design brand Stefan Cooke, fully displaying the charm of British craftsmanship. The two founding designers of the brand, Stefan and Jake, carefully researched and designed, spending a lot of time working with the craftsmen of the Rookery factory. The Rookery factory is one of Mulberry’s two carbon-neutral factories in Somerset, England, adjacent to Jake’s hometown. At the Rookery factory, the two major brands teamed up to develop repair technology and remade Pre-loved bags by hand. Incorporating four of Stefan Cooke’s signature design elements – bow, long handle, braid and slash – this collection transforms each bag into a unique item, redefining today’s second-hand bags.
This collaborative series is part of the Mulberry Editions series, second-hand bag items from the brand’s recycling program Mulberry Exchange. The program has been launched in China in October 2023. Through this program, the brand’s in-house craftsmen in Somerset, England, certify old bags and give them a new life, ready for their new owners. The collaboration explores both brands’ shared passion for circularity and the significance of sustainable craftsmanship in the 21st century, with a focus on low environmental impact manufacturing and innovative raw material sourcing.
In September 2023, this new exclusive series will debut at the Stefan Cooke Spring/Summer 2024 show at London Fashion Week. On February 16 this year, the series will be launched at the DSM London store, where sculpture installations and activities will be announced simultaneously. This is also the second consecutive time that circular fashion has become the focus of London Fashion Week.
DSM’s exclusive second-hand bag capsule collection, which includes 32 pieces, is now on sale at the DSM London store and the DSML e-mall, and will be launched at the DSM Beijing store on March 2, 2024 and the Tokyo Ginza store in March 2024.
