MUHAMMADIYAH stated that his party urged the Constitutional Court (MK) to be professional in deciding disputes over the results of the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Election (Pilpres), on Tuesday (22/4) tomorrow.

The reading of the decision was carried out after the Constitutional Court held a series of trials to hear the lawsuit, examine witnesses and experts and ask for information from four ministers.

“We ask the Constitutional Court to work more professionally and impartially in adjudicating and deciding election disputes. “Resolving election disputes fairly and objectively is a solution and provides political certainty,” said General Secretary of the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership Prof Abdul Mu’ti to Media Indonesia, Sunday (21/4).

For the Constitutional Court, said Mu’ti, resolving election disputes in an honest and trustworthy manner is a momentum to improve performance, improve image and restore public trust which has been declining.

Mu’ti also said that Muhammadiyah respects the parties who submit a lawsuit to the Constitutional Court as a constitutional, peaceful and elegant solution with the awareness that the Constitutional Court’s decision is final and binding for all parties to comply with.

He also invited the public to respond to the election results as a political reality and a logical consequence of the democratic system chosen by the Indonesian people

“Therefore, with various critical notes, the public can accept the election results wisely, wisely and with relief,” he said. (Z-8)
