The artist, Muhammad Anwar, announced his participation in the play Artificial Marriage, instead of the artist, Muhammad Salam, who apologized for the work in solidarity with the people of Palestine and the crimes occurring at the hands of the Zionist entity.
In a special statement to Cairo 24, Mohamed Anwar confirmed his participation in the play Artificial Marriage, instead of his fellow artist Mohamed Salam, noting that he has already traveled to Saudi Arabia and is currently conducting rehearsals, commenting: I wish you success in the play.
Mohamed Salam’s apology for the artificial marriage play
Muhammad Salam had previously decided to apologize for participating in the play Artificial Marriage in the Riyadh season, scheduled to be shown on October 30, indicating that he would not be able to participate in a comedy show during the ongoing events in Palestine and the death of hundreds every day.
Muhammad Salam posted a video clip on his Instagram account, saying: God willing, I will travel to Riyadh tomorrow to show the play Artificial Marriage. It is supposed to be a comedy play with songs and shows, and we are supposed to show it, God willing, on the 30th, and we will show it in the middle of the events that are happening in Gaza. I can’t imagine. I will go to make a play and joke and sing and dance while our sisters in Palestine are workers who are being killed and slaughtered and nothing will happen. Of course, I will not be able to travel.
Mohamed Salam added: Why do I say this at the last minute? I was hoping throughout the past period that the season would be canceled or postponed, as happened at the El Gouna and Cairo Festival, or that the issue would calm down in Palestine in Gaza, and people would intervene, and we would be able to show. But nothing is happening, and almost people are dying until now and nothing is happening, so how can I go out and show people like this in Palestine?
