Muhammad Al-Naas receives the International Prize for Arabic Fiction 2022

The Libyan writer Muhammad Al-Naas, the author of the novel “Bread on the Table of Uncle Milad”, won the International Prize for Arabic Fiction 2022, the 15th session.

Dr. Shukri Al-Mabkhout, Chairman of the Committee of the International Prize for Arabic Fiction “Al Booker”, stated that the 15th session of the award received many novels, and the long list of novels was selected, and then 6 distinguished novels qualified for it and became in the short list and the majority of writers are from the youth category, namely, Tariq Imam, Reem Al-Kamali, Bushra Khalfan, Mohsen Al-Wakely, Khaled Nasrallah, Muhammad Al-Naas.

Dr. Shukri Al-Mabkhout confirmed in exclusive statements to “Sharjah 24” that the winner of the 15th edition of the International Prize for Arabic Fiction is the Libyan writer Muhammad Al-Naas, author of the novel “Bread on Uncle Milad’s Table”. This novel was distinguished by addressing the concept of “manhood” and the novel touched on several aspects Including the division of work between the man and the woman, whereby the reader rearranges his thoughts and pays attention to simple actions that most do not pay attention to.

It is worth noting that the International Prize for Arabic Fiction is the most prestigious and important literary prize in the Arab world. It was launched in 2007 under the auspices of the Booker Prize Foundation in London and supported by the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language of the Department of Culture and Tourism.
