Mueen Ali will not be available for Chennai’s first match

England’s Mueen Ali will not play for Chennai in the opening match of the 2022 IPL. Mueen Ali’s setback was not getting a visa to India. Ali had applied for a visa four weeks ago but the Indian High Commission in London has not yet taken action.

“We have nothing to do with not getting a visa. Mueen has played many times in India. However, Mueen Ali will not be able to play in the next match even if he gets a visa soon. A three-day quarantine is recommended for outsiders.

Chennai Super Kings CEO Kashi Viswanathan has confirmed that the England star will miss the first match of the season. Chennai Super Kings and BCCI are working to get Mueen Ali a visa. Kashi Viswanathan said he hoped the issue would be resolved within two days. Mueen Ali was one of the key players in Chennai’s victory, scoring 356 runs and taking 6 wickets in 15 matches last year. The Chennai Super Kings will play their first match once morest Kolkata on March 26 at Wankhede.

Meanwhile, this time the IPL will be played in two groups. 70 matches in the preliminary round.
