Brampton ∙ Ten thousand one dollar first prize T. P. The Malayali Truckers Association (MTAC) International Tug of War competition for the Manikanda Das Memorial Everrolling Trophy will be held today (August 26). Brampton’s David Suzuki Secondary School grounds are set for one of the biggest tug-of-war competitions in North America, with nearly a quarter of a million dollars in prizes up for grabs, including a $5,001 second prize and a $2,501 third prize. MTAC is the first association of Canadian Malayali truck drivers.
The organizers announced that fourteen teams from the United States and Canada will participate in the competition. The women fight in the tug-of-war and there is a lot of noise here. $3001 awaits the winners of the women’s tug-of-war.
The competitions are led by the MTAC team led by President Somon Zakaria Konduran and Secretary Tjo Chacko. Realtor Mohandas Kalarikal Manikanda Das is the mega sponsor. This is the second time that MTAC is organizing an international tug-of-war competition. All the final preparations including pandal have been completed. There will also be a local shop.
