Box Score PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (Sept. 22, 2023)–Morgan State opened the 2023 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) slate with a tough 3-2 (22-25, 25-22, 22-25, 25-22, 9-15) loss on the road to Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) on Friday night at Hytche Athletic Center.
Morgan State fell to 7-6, 0-1 MEAC, while the Hawks improved to 6-10, 1-0 MEAC).
Makila Billingsley led Morgan State with a match-high 19 kills and Tyrah Weems added 10. Gabriela Hiciano finished with a team-high 17 digs and Trinity Carruthers paced the Bears with 25 assists.
The Bears return home on Sunday, Sept. 22 for their MEAC home opener when they welcome defending MEAC Champion Delaware State to Hill Field House. First serve is at 1 p.m.
