Asunción, IP Agency.- The National Institute of Statistics (INE) and the Vice-Ministry of MSMEs of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC) signed this Thursday a framework agreement for inter-institutional cooperation to enhance strategic policies, through the generation of information on Micro, Small and Medium-sized Companies (MSMEs).
The national director of the INE, Iván Ojeda, highlighted that they will work to strengthen the information system of MSMEs, which are the “main drivers that Paraguay has for its development and economic growth.”
Celebrate this initiative that has several objectives in the area and for people to live better in Paraguay, he said.
The Vice Minister of MSMEs, Gustavo Giménez Fernández, referred in the same way and highlighted the importance of having consolidated information regarding the sector, in order to improve management, through statistics. Currently, eight out of ten workers are working in MSMEs.
One of the main objectives of this agreement refers to mutual cooperation in everything related to the development and competitiveness of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises – MSMEs, as well as the promotion of entrepreneurs. Currently, regarding 90% of the companies in the country fall into this category.
The authorities and technical teams of both institutions have already established the first steps for the joint preparation of the MSME Formalization and Employment Bulletin; Likewise, they propose the formation of the MSMEs and Entrepreneurs Advisory Committee.
All of these actions are intended to collect information that serves the formulation of policies focused on the development of this business sector.
