MSI Stealth 17 Studio A13VH Review: Premium Gaming Laptop Performance and Design

There are very few that can be used out of the box, like gaming laptops. Normally, you’d have to dig into the settings or check out the performance of a few games before you’re blown away, but when I pulled the MSI Stealth 17 Studio A13VH out of my sleeve, I was immediately impressed by its design and gorgeous picture quality. move.
Well, before we get into the specs, I want to highlight the design. The Stealth 17 Studio A13 series is sleek, black, and understated in a way that some gaming laptops try to avoid in order to show that they’re really good for gaming with bright and flashing lights. If you’re looking for gaming RGB goodness, you do get a glowing keyboard, but I’m a big fan of the quiet confidence of the Stealth 17 Studio’s design. Despite its size, it’s also very lightweight. It’s also very thin, but even so it packs a lot of ports. You get an RJ45, HDI 2.1, SD Express card reader, 2 USB Type-A ports, 1 Type-C port with PD charging and another Type-C port with USB3.2 Gen2. They’re all neatly arranged around the laptop, and the charging port is on the back so you can let your cables disappear behind your desk while you work or play.

The RRP for this Stealth 17 Studio model is £3,699.00, which I could find online. You might get something cheaper, but even at the price MSI sets, this laptop will do everything it can to make sure you spend your money wisely. 13th Generation Intel i9-13900H, RTX 4080 laptop GPU, 32GB RAM, 2TB SSD, SteelSeries per-key keyboard, and 17.3-inch 4K 144Hz miniLED screen. Of course, if you want to improve things like GPU (up to 4090) and RAM, you can do that, and if you don’t want to spend that much money, you can make some sacrifices on other models, but the benefits you get here are impressive People are impressed.
As mentioned, the display here is impressive. I’ve only tinkered with the OLED screen lightly and rarely even looked at the miniLED display, but after using this laptop for a while it will be hard to go back to my regular monitor. The picture quality is very good and helps provide a very immersive gaming experience. The speakers are pretty good too, and manage to pump out good audio levels without sounding tinny, which even similarly expensive laptops suffer from.In terms of peripherals and performance, MSI really wins here

The gaming experience is great on this laptop, and the battery life allows you to sustain a lot of gaming time without having to plug it in. I can’t speak to carrying it on long flights or anything like that, but MSI does claim that the 99.9Whr battery is packed to the legal flight limit, so they’re doing their best to make sure your screen doesn’t go black during gaming. Performance is impressive too, as you can really push gaming to its limits in 4K and still hit some impressive FPS numbers while using this laptop. What I’m saying is that if you really want to hit the 144Hz the screen is capable of and you’re playing demanding games, it might be worth dropping the resolution to 1440p. Also, ironically for a laptop called the Stealth, I found that it would get loud very quickly when running games, not even for more than a few minutes. Sometimes this wasn’t even when I tested its benchmark limits, so it’s worth noting.

The MSI Stealth 17 Studio A13VH is at the higher end of the price list when you look at gaming laptops, but if you really have more than three big burning holes in your pocket, it’s a great option. Premium build, a gorgeous design, and a screen that makes you forget about reality, plus performance that outperforms any tower PC, makes this laptop great. The smart cooling system, speakers, and SteelSeries keyboard only further demonstrate how well-built this laptop is. Gamers are at the forefront of the design, but they’re not the only customer base MSI has in mind here, so instead of worrying about blinding nearby passengers on a plane with RGB lights, you can play quietly at home or on the go. Gaming, just the slightest noise from your speakers or headphones when pushing the Stealth 17 Studio A13VH to its limits.
