On the eve of the third anniversary of the Beirut port explosion, Magda El Roumi released a new song entitled “When Beirut Returns”, and dedicated it to the families of the victims of the explosion and all the Lebanese. And you see it first on mtv and onetv.
In her new song, Al-Roumi recalled the poet Nizar Qabbani’s words regarding Beirut’s return to its prosperous era.
Al-Roumi says at the beginning of the clip: “I dedicate this work to the families of the martyrs of the port, and to all the families of the righteous martyrs of Lebanon. The sources are from us, and for Beirut to return to us safely, today before tomorrow, with God’s permission.”
And the song “When Beirut Returns” was written by the late poet Nizar Qabbani, composed by Yahya Al-Hassan, in which Al-Roumi collaborated with the orchestral music arranger Michel Fadel, while the oriental musical arrangement was handled by Hassan Yahya Al-Maoush.
As for the clip, it is directed by Charbel Youssef and embodies women dressed in black in an attempt to convey the tragic reality in the Lebanese capital.
The clip was filmed between Lebanon and Egypt, where Magda Al-Roumi appears in one of the halls of the League of Arab States, watching the Lebanese flag and a computer screen with Beirut written on it and under it musical notes.
