President Yun Seok-yeol’s wife, Kim Kun-hee, visited Bonghama Village in Gimhae, Gyeongnam on the 13th to pay tribute to the tomb of the late former President Roh Moo-hyun. It is significant as it is the first time for a conservative first lady to visit the grave of former President Roh Moo-hyun.

First Lady Kim visited Bonghama Village by KTX this followingnoon. About 200 people, including residents of Bonghama Village, welcomed him in a black jacket and pants and white gloves.

After visiting the cemetery, Ms. Kim prevented Ms. Kwon Yang-sook and had a conversation for regarding an hour and a half. Ms. Kwon went up to the front door of her residence to greet Ms. Kim. During her meeting, Ms. Kim first brought up her memories of crying while watching the movie ‘The Attorney’ with herself when President Yoon was in a difficult time due to his demotion. First Lady Kwon said, “She met with me following President Yoon visited Bongha village in the past to worship.” Next, Ms. Kwon did not spare any advice to Ms. Kim, saying, “I’m sorry that I mightn’t attend the (President Yoon) inauguration ceremony because I was not feeling well.”

Spokesperson Kang said on the same day, “The two exchanged open-ended conversations regarding life as the president’s spouses, their sorrows, and how to provide assistance.”
