MR80X, a new Wi-Fi 6 router from Mercusys. –

MERCUSYS offers us its MR80X router, a WIFI router intended for the general public and which carries Wi-Fi 6 and four removable external antennas to offer Wi-Fi signal anywhere in the house.

The brand continues to grow in the market for products dedicated to consumer computer networks. So following having proposed its MESH solution a few years ago, the brand is returning this time to a more “basic” product, namely a Wi-Fi router.

Mercusys MR80X router, for stable and fast WiFi 6 connections.

In any case, this is what the brand announces to us via a “slogan” or a key phrase as the marketing pros would say. To do this, this MR80X router embeds a Wi-Fi 6 solution integrating the 802.11ax/ac/a/b/g/n standards, all in dual band 2.4GHz and 5GHz. The brand announces a cumulative speed for the two bands of up to 3 Gbps (2402 Mbps in 5 GHz + 574 Mbps in 2.4 GHz). And to achieve this, the router can rely on technologies such as MU-MIMO and OFDMA to reduce congestion and quadruple the average throughput.

The MR80X router is also equipped with four high-gain multi-directional external antennas with Beamforming. As you will have understood, their role is to provide maximum signal throughout the house, as far as possible. In addition, the brand announces the integration of “smart connect” technology which intelligently chooses the best band available for each device.

As for the security of your network, this router includes support for WPA3. Connectivity level, the router offers a WAN port and three Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports.
