Mr.Bricolage Exceeds 1,000 Franchise Stores: A Success Story of Growth and Expansion

Mr.Bricolage, whose head office is located in Loiret, at La Chapelle-Saint-Mesmin, reached its objective of 1,000 franchise stores in the first half of 2023. The brand had 1,003 points of sale as of June 30, compared to 920 at the end of 2022.

The development of the network offsets, notes the group, the slowdown in household consumption: the volume of business amounted to 1.2 billion euros, up 1.3%.

Despite the slowdown in household consumption, the dynamism of the network and the attractiveness of the brand ensure growth in business volume. On a like-for-like basis, faced with inflation and the rise in interest rates which are holding back consumption and household investment, the group recorded a slight decline of 0.9% in business volume.

A decline of 1.8% in France for an equal number of stores

In France, Mr.Bricolage totaled 927 stores as of June 30, 2023 compared to 846 as of December 31, 2022, i.e. a net balance of 81 new points of sale at the start of the year. Business volume for the first half amounted to 1.03 billion euros, stable (+0.3%) at current surfaces compared to the first half of 2022. Under the effect of the economic slowdown, it fell by 1 .8% at comparable stores.

Over one year, the increase in the number of points of sale was also accompanied by the opening of three Mr.Bricolage stores in Paris, thus developing the offer of small local areas in the capital, which now has seven stores.

Two new international stores

Internationally, the banner opened two additional stores (in Kosovo and Morocco) and generated a volume of business of 168.4 million euros, up 4% on a comparable store basis. The brand now totals 76 stores outside France, spread over 11 countries.

E-commerce sales (excluding click-and-collect), at 6.7 million euros in the first half, increased by 20.8%.
