According to the leader of the Liberals in the City of Brussels, David Weytsman, the MR therefore becomes, with now ten municipal councillors, the second political force in the City, following the Socialists and ahead of Ecolo-Groen.
Municipal councilor since 2006, Filiz Gûles justified her choice by the opportunity to “give meaning” to her political commitment. “We can do more and better to support the self-employed and traders in the City of Brussels… The health and energy crisis and the errors of GoodMove have been an economic disaster for many families and self-employed people. I want to be able to denounce it freely and above all to bring concrete liberal solutions”, she justified.
Quoted in the press release from the MR, the president of the Brussels Regional Party, David Leisterh, underlined that the dynamic of meetings followed by the Brussels MR in all the districts made it possible to “move the lines and enrich ourselves with new profiles like that of Filiz Gûles”, independent for 25 years and very active in the field”.
