PT MPX Logistics International Tbk (MPX), a leading logistics company in Indonesia, will distribute ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS), PT Krakatau Steel’s production for the next five years.
Both parties have agreed to this after officially signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday (23/8). The agreement will last for the next five years, focusing on the transportation of GGBFS, an important raw material in the production of high-quality and environmentally friendly cement.
PT Krakatau Semen Indonesia has a GGBFS production capacity of 690,000 tons per year, making it one of the main players in the cement industry in Indonesia.
Through this collaboration, PT MPX Logistics International Tbk will be responsible for distributing GGBFS to various regions in Indonesia, ensuring the delivery process runs efficiently and on time.
President Director of PT MPX Logistics International Tbk, Wijaya Candera, in his statement stated that this MoU is a strategic step to strengthen MPX’s position in the national logistics sector.

“This long-term partnership with PT Krakatau Semen Indonesia demonstrates strong confidence in MPX’s ability to provide reliable logistics services. We are committed to providing full support to ensure the smooth distribution of GGBFS which will help infrastructure development in Indonesia,” said Wijaya.
Meanwhile, President Director of PT Krakatau Semen Indonesia, Wahyu Nugroho, welcomed this collaboration and hoped that this agreement would provide benefits for both parties.
“With our GGBFS production reaching 690,000 tons per year, we need a reliable logistics partner to distribute our products efficiently. We are confident that MPX is the right choice to support our goal of strengthening competitiveness in the market,” he said.

The agreement also includes a commitment from both companies to continue exploring other opportunities for future collaboration, with the aim of supporting the growth of the cement and logistics industry in Indonesia.
With a five-year agreement duration, this MoU is expected to be a strong foundation for the development of long-term collaboration between PT MPX Logistics International Tbk and PT Krakatau Semen Indonesia, while also providing significant contributions to national economic and infrastructure development.
