The Public Ministry (MP), through the Attorney General, Tarek William Saab, called on the Costa Rican government to interview Maickel Villegasthe main suspect in the murder of Venezuelan lieutenant Ronald Ojeda.

In a post on the X platform, Saab said that the MP delegation is looking for information from Villegas, in order to clarify the crime.. He asked the Costa Rican government for the suspect’s complete identification, a certified copy of his file, fingerprints, immigration status and record, as well as photographs.
“These actions by the Public Prosecutor’s Office are intended to (…) warn national and international public opinion of the clear possibility that the Chilean authorities also intend to manipulate the detainee’s statement, based on false positives, in order to continue using them as a false flag case once morest our nation,” said Saab.
Ojeda’s extradition to Chile is underway
Costa Rican authorities said they are processing Chile’s extradition request for Villegas. The 27-year-old suspect is currently under reinforced custody of the Immigration Police in a high-security facility.
Meanwhile, the Chilean government, through its Attorney General’s Office, linked Ojeda’s murder to the criminal gang Tren de Aragua. They have formally asked Venezuela for cooperation in trying to solve the murder.
