Through his account on X, formerly Twitter, the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reported the MP’s report on the Ojeda case. He highlighted that on Friday, July 12, Maickel Villegas was arrested in Costa Rica, suspected of the kidnapping and murder of Lieutenant Ojeda.

He also points out that despite the “constant, offensive and manipulative statements by Chilean authorities” in which “They blame Venezuela without proof: today we ratify” the next:

A) The Chilean high command is unable to explain how former Lieutenant Ronald Ojeda, with political asylum status in his country, was able to enter and leave the country to carry out conspiratorial actions aimed at Venezuela and other countries.

B) Contrary to what the Chilean government obsessively claimed, the criminal Maickel Villegas, as I have stated several times, was not in Venezuela. The clear proof of this is the fact that this subject was arrested in Costa Rica.

C) The aforementioned criminal Maickel Villegas, had a shameful work permit in Chile. After committing the crime and having an arrest warrant issued once morest him: it was extended because they considered him “qualified to be hired and perform paid activities“.

D) This lack of security and protection by the Chilean authorities forced Ronald Ojeda’s family to move to another country. They went to Argentina requesting, according to them, “protection”.

Finally, prosecutor Saab pointed out that everything described above was to use the murder of Lieutenant Ojeda to achieve a “network of malicious actions“. With the main purpose of ““put Venezuela in the wrong position in the international arena.”

Add the message that “At the same time, the Chilean authorities have a false alibi to AVOID THEIR EXCLUSIVE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS VILE CRIME. The “investigation” of which has been of a very poor procedural quality.“.
