MP charged four people with medical malpractice

Four health workers were charged by the Public Ministry following being accused of allegedly causing serious injuries to a patient in a health center located in El Vigía, Mérida state.

The information was released by the Attorney General of the Republic Tarek William Saab through his social networks, in which he exposed doctors Rafael Contreras, Gerardo Pérez and Holidey Cano; and nurses Yosmaira Altuve and Andreina Altuve for injuring citizen Margelys Mendez when she was admitted to the “El Vigía” clinic.

The defendants were charged by the Sixth Prosecutor of the Public Ministry in the state of Mérida for the crimes of “Very Serious intentional injuries by way of eventual fraud, omission of relief and conspiracy”, according to the prosecutor.

The four health workers await trial in order to know the final sentence of the judges of the Supreme Court of Justice.
