The certified debt owed to companies providing services to the State, in the period 2013-2019, is valued at 2.5 billion kwanzas, informed, in Luena, Moxico province, the general director of the Public Debt Management Unit, Dorivaldo Teixeira.
According to the person responsible, in addition to the referenced values, 93 billion kwanzas are pending certification by the General Inspectorate of State Administration (IGAI).
As for the province of Moxico, he said that it is the second region of the country with the largest amount of debt to be settled, set at more than 46 billion and 590 million and 275 thousand kwanzas, referring to the implementation of contracts, as well as the provision of services and supply of goods, according to the person responsible.
On the occasion, he said that in the province of Moxico, a total of 34 billion kwanzas have been settled so far, while 22 billion is the value of the certified debt, according to Angop.
On a working visit to the province of Moxico, the Minister of Finance, Vera Daves, informed, last Thursday, that the Provincial Governments and Municipal Administrations will begin to settle debts contracted by the State in the period 2020-2023, in the provision of services .
According to the governor, the aforementioned commitments will be honored from 2024, with the current budget that these budgetary units benefit from.
As for the commitments assumed by the State in the period 2013-2019, through the provision of services, the budgetary units, in this case the Provincial Governments and Municipal Administrations, must recognize the existence of the debt and upload it to the system, to be certified by the General Inspectorate of Administration of the State (IGAE), according to the minister.
After this process, he continued, the Ministry of Finance will be able to negotiate the debt with service providers for payment.
