Actor Aju Varghese says that Santosh Pandit is proof that the film has reached the hands of common people. Aju said that he has respect for him and that he has proved that he can make a film for Rs 5 lakh. He was speaking in an interview given to Media One.
‘Film is never the hardest job. That’s just what the filmmakers say. Talent is out there. If you pay them and write the script, the movie will be a hit. It is a simple tool.
I came to the cinema thinking of Vineeth Srinivasan. I haven’t been a part of any big productions or movies here yet. There was no problem when no one called. All I have done are small films. Most of the films have come in budgets of 2 crores and 2.5 crores. Vellimoonga, Ati Kapyare Kootamani and Thattathin Marayat are all small films.
We are surrounded by talent and talent. No more monopoly here. Anyone can make films,’ said Aju Varghese.
Aju said that today Malayalam cinema has reached many hands which had no chance of reaching it and Santhosh Pandit is an example of that.
‘In my opinion, Malayalam cinema has reached the hands of many common people who had no chance of reaching it. Santosh Pandit is someone I respect for that. He showed everyone that a film can be made for five lakh rupees. I am not talking regarding the quality of the films he does. But Polly became an example for everyone. Half of the releases today are from newbie directors. That is a big thing,’ said Aju Varghese.
