Has your natural reaction to pain, injury or illness been to stop your activities for fear of increasing your discomfort? And then you found yourself sedentary, gradually losing your muscular and cardiovascular capacities, your energy, and your enthusiasm.

Even some daily tasks may have become too demanding. You have become a hamster moving in the opposite direction on your wheel, unable to turn it over… you now feel stuck in what I call “uncomfortable comfort”. Knowing the benefits of starting to move once more and learning how to do it intelligently with your condition in mind might give you the first boost you need.

MUSCULOSKELETAL DISORDERS

It is inflammation, lesions or symptoms that affect the musculoskeletal system. The list of disorders is excessively long and includes lower back pain, neck pain, knee pain, tendinitis, bursitis, etc. Studies show that exercises for mobility, muscle strengthening, improvement of posture, and the biomechanics of movement, carried out regularly, can help relieve pain and above all prevent it. An improvement in living habits and work environment will also increase the chances.

OSTEOARTHRITIS

Osteoarthritis, which is mainly a dysfunction of the normal cartilage regeneration process, brings a lot of pain. To protect itself from this discomfort, the body modifies its biomechanics, decreases the stability of the joint, reduces its capacities… and thus begins a whole vicious circle. It is therefore essential to slow down osteoarthritis as soon as possible! Specific, functional and personalized exercises aimed at strengthening and stabilizing the joint should be encouraged in the short, medium and long term to break this vicious circle. It is normal to feel pain, however to get the most benefit from the current exercise, you must pay attention to the inflection point, that is to say the point where this pain increases, and stop the action.

MENTAL HEALTH

A training session or the practice of a physical activity brings a feeling of satisfaction and a great well-being thanks to the increase in serotonin and endorphins. These promote relaxation and a good mood. As a result, exercise lowers stress and anxiety levels, while improving sleep quality. In addition to being an element of social integration, sport also allows you to develop greater physical abilities which often lead to greater self-confidence.

DISEASE

Whatever the disease: hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, fibromyalgia, asthma, Alzheimer’s… physical activity reduces several risk factors, but can also be part of the treatment, reduce discomfort, increase energy levels, improve abilities and quality of life.
