In Guinea, Moussa Dadis Camara appeared in court for the fifth time on Tuesday 20 December. The former head of state is one of the main accused in the killings of September 28, 2009, when an opposition meeting was crushed in blood, killing more than 150 people, more than a hundred women have been raped. The floor was today for the civil parties and the exchanges were very lively.

Over the questions of master Alpha Amadou DS Bah, the face of Moussa Dadis Camara closes more and more, reports our correspondent in Conakry, Matthias Raynal :

« You said here that you had no possibility of going to stop the massacres at the stadium, because according to you they were already perpetrated, right? ? » « You still want me to do a rehearsal ? I said the facts were already doneso I no longer have an answer to this question. »

He sinks into silence. And then, suddenly, the storm rages behind the microphone. ” Captain, when you came to power, you made hollow speeches “Begins the lawyer, to which Moussa Dadis Camara launches annoyed: ” you are not a good lawyer, because you want to disturb ! »

« Mr. Camara, are you waiting for the question please? “, said the president of the court, trying to restore calm:” To say that a speech is hollow is neither an offensive remark, nor means practically anything. If you haven’t, you can just say “I have not done”. And we can’t say “I’m not answering anymore”, so you are not going to impose questions, it is not you who sets the rules of the game here, Mr. Camara. »

Moussa Dadis Camara once more challenges Alpha Condé

During the fourth day of the trial for Captain Moussa Dadis Camara, who is tensing up day by day, the former head of the junta at the time of the events is terribly angry with former President Alpha Condé, reports our correspondent in Conakry, Mouctar Bah. He accuses him by name of having orchestrated the putsch which ousted him from power in December 2009, with the complicity of his friend and comrade-in-arms Sékouba Konaté:

« I was betrayed by my trusted man Sékouba Konaté, he was the man with whom I shared power, I did nothing without him. But, in this game, he was in collusion with Professor Alpha Condé ».

For Souleymane Kéita, member of the political bureau of the RPG, the party of Alpha Condé, Captain Dadis Camara is a diversion:

« Accusing Professor Alpha Condé, for us, is a simple way of entertaining public opinion. But the fact is that soldiers left the Alpha Yaya camp and went to the September 28 stadium to massacre citizens who were demonstrating. So, I don’t see what link we can make between this event and Professor Alpha Condé, who belonged to the living forces in the same way as all the leaders of the time. All these actors were united within the living forces. »

The appearance of Moussa Dadis Camara must resume Wednesday, December 21, he will once more face the lawyers of the civil parties.
