Mourning in Brazil. Two Moto GP riders died during the fourth date of the National Motorcycle Championship, at the Cascavael International Raceway, in the west of the state of Paraná.
Erico Verissimo da Rocha38 years old, and André Verissimo Cardoso42, died following a serious accident on the first lap of the Moto 1,000 GP race.
In the images of the event, it is seen how one of the pilots loses control in a curve and falls to the track. Trascartón, he signals to the rest of the competitors while trying to get to his feet.
Most of the riders managed to avoid hitting him and his motorcycle, but one of them did not make it and ran over him fully.
The hit, at high speed, left the two pilots with serious injuries and they had to receive urgent medical attention. According G1 Globe, the death of both was confirmed by the organization.
“The Moto 1,000 GP family sends all our prayers to the riders, family, friends and fans,” they said in a brief statement.
