Mountain rescue, alpine police and emergency helicopter were on duty in the Höllengebirge on Saturday following a 59-year-old fell heavily while descending from Hocklecken. The woman had climbed from Taferlklaussee to the 1708 meter high summit, on the way back via the Hochleckenhaus in the direction of Kienklause the accident happened: at an altitude of around 1150 meters near the so-called “Hohe Rast” the 59-year-old stumbled. She fell a few feet and landed on the trail.

Due to the injuries, an independent descent was no longer an option, and an emergency call was made. The Steinbach am Attersee mountain rescue service, the Martin 3 emergency doctor helicopter and the Gmunden Alpine police moved out. The crew of the emergency doctor helicopter “Martin 3” was able to save the injured with a rope and fly into the valley. The 59-year-old was taken to the Salzkammergut Clinic in Gmunden for further care, the police said in the evening.
