The initiative seeks to provide the possibility of knowing the natural spaces of the Metropolitan Region.
He Mountain Training Center (CFM) is an initiative created by prestigious mountaineers that seeks to provide the opportunity to learn and enjoy the outdoors for free through various workshops and programs.
Among the forerunners of the CMF are Ernesto Olivares, Ignacio Canales and Cristián García Huidobro, members of the consultancy Programa Aventura in conjunction with the Anglo American Foundation. In addition, the project has outstanding professionals related to the world of mountaineering.
The purpose of this initiative is to bring the natural spaces of the Metropolitan Region, such as valleys and mountain ranges, closer to people who for various reasons have not been able to discover them.
“There is a lot of interest in accessing nature, but doing so implies being responsible so that it ends up being a full experience for those of us who come to it and for the environment that receives us”, commented Ernesto Olivares.
For his part, Ignacio Canales adds that “the idea is that this be a meeting space for people of all ages to learn the Art of Camping and Marching Techniques and all the knowledge that enables them to enjoy themselves safely and responsibly.” the natural spaces and the mountains”.
“We also have courses where those interested can deepen the intermediate level with basic courses on Camping, Food, Safety and First Aid and other outings to enter the mountains,” says Canales.
