Two days following her success in the short-track, Jolanda Neff did it once more during the cross-country event, Sunday at Mont-Saint-Anne, to achieve a magnificent double. This is the thirteenth cross-country World Cup victory for the Saint-Galloise, the first since 2018.
In Canada, it was in the first of five laps that the Olympic champion built her success by quickly getting ahead of all her competitors. Finally, she won with a wide lead of 56 seconds over the Austrian Mona Mitterwallner. Also note the fine fifth place of the Nidwalden Alessandra Keller. Third Swiss in the running, Steffi Häberlin from Thurgau came in 15th.
Among the men, Filippo Colombo from Ticino, winner of the short track on Friday, took second place behind Frenchman Titouan Carod. Two other Swiss finished in the top 10. Grison Nino Schurter took 6th place while Lucerne Marcel Guerrini finished 10th.
