The Swiss kicked off their weekend perfectly at Mont Saint-Anne, Quebec. Jolanda Neff from St-Gallen and Filippo Colombo from Ticino won the World Cup short race event.
Jolanda Neff won in the sprint ahead of the American Gwendalyn Gibson and the Nidwalden Alessandra Keller who had won her first World Cup success on Sunday at Snowshoe. With this victory in Quebec, the Olympic champion magnificently announces the color before the Europeans in Munich and the Worlds in Les Gets.
Victorious for the first time at Lenzerheide in this short race discipline, Filippo Colombo did it once more at Mont-Sainte-Anne. If Mathias Flückiger skipped this meeting in Quebec, Nino Schurter returned to business a week following his fall at Snowshoe. Graubünden had to settle for a modest 32nd place. The cross-country events will take place on Sunday.
