The Mountain Bike Congress Austria redefines the industry and focuses on innovation, sustainability and cooperation

Salzburg (OTS) The rapid development of mountain biking as a sport, tourism magnet and health promotion has reached a peak. The Mountain Bike Congress Austria, which takes place in Saalbach from October 3rd to 5th, 2023, brings together experts from Europe to shape the future of this dynamic industry.

“Mountain biking is more than just a sport; it is a lifestyle, an industry and a model for sustainability,” says Harald Maier, initiator of the congress. “We are at a pivotal point in mountain biking history where we can redefine the limits of what’s possible.”

The Congress will focus on key areas including:

  • Sustainable trail construction and maintenance: Innovative technologies and standards are revolutionizing the relationship between sport and the environment.
  • Tourism and local economy: With strategic planning and collaboration, mountain bike destinations can help increase tourism.
  • Health and well-being: The positive physical and psychological effects of mountain biking are explored and used as a tool to increase social value.
  • Technology and innovation: The role of AI and disruptive technologies in the development of sport will be discussed.

“The challenges are complex, but the opportunities are huge,” says Harald Doucha. “We must act together to seize these opportunities and make mountain biking a role model for other industries.”

Mountain Bike Congress Austria will also take a look at regulatory frameworks and the need for cross-sector collaboration to drive value creation in the industry.
