Mountain bike: Jenny Rissveds on the celebration: “I don’t like being in the center”

That sporting achievements are celebrated and attract attention is nothing new. Jenny Rissved’s Olympic bronze was no exception – the Swedish base wanted to celebrate the medal. But celebrating and taking center stage is not for everyone.

Rissveds explains why she feels it is difficult.

– I am very proud of my achievements but find it difficult to share it with others because it puts so much focus on myself, I work to see the beauty in it, I am learning all the time, she tells SVT Sport.

With a little distance to the bronze – a few hours – it’s not just the bronze that makes her proud.

– This Olympics I am in touch with myself, my feelings and am present. I can stop and remind myself of the achievement itself, the journey here, all the years. It feels very nice, I can enjoy it.

Will there be more Olympics?

– Yes, but it will be, as it looks today. I want to do one or two more Olympics.
