Motorola revealed last week the Moto G82. Now that the company has quietly launched the Motorola Moto G71s in China, let’s take a quick look at the specs that show it’s pretty much the same phone. We don’t know the reason for the name change, but we do know that it’s a minor update to the original G71 from last year 2021.
Motorola Moto G71S details
The Moto G71s AMOLED screen has grown to 6.6 inches instead of the original 6.4 inches. In addition, the new screen offers a refresh rate of 120 Hz (above 60 Hz) while maintaining FHD + resolution. The screen has 100% coverage of DCI-P3 and NTSC color spaces. The phone also came with features represented by stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.
Performance-wise, the phone is powered by a Snapdragon 695 processor backed by 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The phone is running Android 12 (with My UX 3.0).
Despite the larger screen, the battery capacity is the same at 5000mAh as well as the charging speed at 33W, everything except for the camera bump.
The cameras on the back are the same, starting with the 50MP main unit, which features OIS support and a 4-in-1 pixel binning sensor (for 1.28µm pixels). Along with an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera (121 degrees) and a 2-megapixel macro camera.
The 16MP front camera has a 105-degree ultra-wide-angle lens. Motoola sees this as a vlogging phone, so you can record videos using both the front and back cameras, which is a really nice feature of the phone.
For the price, the 8/128GB model (the only option available) costs CNY 1,700 ($250 / €240). That’s CNY 100 more than the regular G71 in 8/128GB configuration.
