A motorist driving under the influence of alcohol, narcotics and drugs caused an accident involving a cyclist on Wednesday evening in Ophain-Bois-Seigneur-Isaac, in the entity of Braine-l’Alleud, a-t- we learned Thursday from the local police.
The brainois police were called to intervene, Wednesday evening around 7:15 p.m., in the rue des Combattants, in Ophain. An accident involving a motorist and a cyclist had just occurred there.
The 21-year-old cyclist from Braine-le-Château was slightly injured. It appeared that the driver of the car, a Nivellois in his twenties, was driving under the influence of alcohol, narcotics and medication.
The person concerned was transported to the hospital where various investigative duties were carried out. He was deprived of a driving license for an initial period of 15 days.
“The consequences of this accident could have been dramatic”comments the head of the Braine-l’Alleud police force.
