MOTOGP introduces a new initiative called Racing for the Future which will be present at the Austrian Grand Prix, 16-18 August 2024.
As reported by Betweenthis initiative is a form of MotoGP’s commitment to building a better world through an environmentally and energy-friendly approach, to technological innovations that can support it.
MotoGP supports global sustainability and riders and teams on the grid will race on a minimum of 40 percent sustainable fuel by 2024, increasing to 100 percent sustainable by 2027.
“The new regulations that will come into effect in 2027 will also make MotoGP motorcycles safer and more sustainable, while ensuring the action on track is even more spectacular,” MotoGP said.
In electric mobility, which is crucial to reducing emissions in urban areas where the infrastructure allows, the MotoE World Championship is also driving innovation, from the motorcycles themselves to sustainable materials in tires, recharging technologies and more.
“We also race on some of the most sustainable circuits in the world, have ISO20121 certification for our sustainable event management, and we focus on efficiency in our calendar and logistics exclusively using B777 aircraft for many of our long-haul freight journeys, which significantly reduces emissions,” he explained.
Furthermore, MotoGP is also open to everyone and strives to provide wider opportunities for aspiring racers, no matter where they come from and what their background is.
In addition, MotoGP is also committed to building a lasting legacy outside the championship track, through their official charity, Two Wheels for Life (TWFL). (Z-6)
