MotoGP: Oliveira winner, Bagnaia returns to 2 points behind Quartararo – rts.ch

Fabio Quartararo is only 2 points ahead of Francesco Bagnaia in the MotoGP world championship, 3 rounds from the end. While Nelson Oliveira won ahead of Jack Miller, the Frenchman, only 17th, missed his race on the wet Buriram track where the Italian took 3rd place.

Oliveira, who will join Aprilia-RNF next season, won his second race of the season, following Indonesia, contested in similar conditions. The wet track, due to the rain which delayed the start by 55 minutes, prompted the teams to review their strategies.

For Quartararo (Yamaha, not the most comfortable in wet conditions, everything is tossed: started in the 2nd row, he was in 17th place following the 1st lap. The Frenchman never managed to regain rhythm. He finished outside the top 15 and therefore did not score points for the first time since the Aragon Grand Prix in 2020 – excluding retirements.

In the general classification and while there are still 3 GPs to run, Bagnaia (Ducati) is only 2 points away, and Aleix Esparago (Aprilia), 11th, at 20 points.
