The MotoGP world championship will stop in India for the first time in 2023, announced its promoter, Dorna, who hopes to seduce the second most populous country in the world. The race is scheduled on the international circuit of Buddh, not far from New Delhi, which hosted Formula 1 3 times, between 2011 and 2013.
This is the second novelty for 2023, following the announcement a few days ago of the holding of a Grand Prix in Kazakhstan. No date has yet been announced for the Indian Grand Prix.

Faced with a drop in attendance at certain European Grand Prix, the MotoGP promoter is seeking to rebound by expanding its global audience. In this sense, Dorna has also signed a memorandum of understanding with Saudi Arabia to soon host one of the MotoGP rounds, without specifying a date or circuit.
For now, the official MotoGP calendar for next season has not yet been published but might feature a total of 21 races, as was planned in 2022 before the cancellation of the Finnish GP. New next year: each event will feature 2 races, a sprint race on Saturday and the real Grand Prix on Sunday.
