The reigning world champion, imperial throughout the weekend where he achieved the triple pole position/success in sprint/victory in the race, was ahead of the South African pilot Brad Binder (KTM) as the day before, while Italian Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati-VR46) took third place.
Bagnaia, who took the 16th victory of his career in the premier class, the fifth in ten Grands Prix this year, escapes a little further at the top of the provisional classification of the world championship since he now has 62 points. ahead of Spaniard Jorge Martin (Ducati-Pramac), seventh on Sunday, and 69 over Bezzecchi.
“Honestly, I expected to have more pace, but the conditions were difficult for everyone. We managed to find our rhythm then to set the times we were hoping for and everything went well. I’m really delighted,” said the Turinese.
Starting in the lead, the 26-year-old Italian never let go of the controls of the race and won without shaking with a lead of more than five seconds. He now has three victories and two runners-up places in the last five Grands Prix and seems untouchable in the fight for the world title.
Quartararo 8th and Zarco 13th
Like Saturday during the sprint, Binder clung to the Ducati for a few laps, before seeing it escape without being able to do anything. The South African, who extended until 2026 with KTM on Saturday, however won a new podium on the land of his manufacturer and consolidates his fourth place in the championship.
Fabio Quartararo, who started in 9th position, put in a good performance on the handlebars of his Yamaha: following a good start, he was hampered by the Spaniard Alex Espargaro, dropped beyond the Top 10 and finally finished in 8th place.
Johann Zarco (Ducati-Pramac), 10th on the grid, had a very complicated Sunday: he first dropped two places on the first lap, and following moving up to 8th place, he fell back inexorably to finish one sad 13th place.
