Moto Razr 2022 teardown reveals the secret to reducing screen creases – ePrice.HK

In addition to the Galaxy Z Flip4 last week, Motorola also released the Razr 2022 clamshell folding machine. Although the manufacturer has not yet announced the international version of the launch, some Chinese tech bloggers have already obtained the phone and even filmed a teardown video. Compared with the previous generation Razr 5G, the new Razr 2022 is more mature in terms of appearance design and internal structure.

WekiHome, which made the teardown video, compared the Razr 5G with the Razr 2022’s hinge. The new phone uses a completely different hinge design. It cannot be opened with one hand like the previous generation, because the pop-up structure is no longer used. Instead, it can be pressed. The hinges need to be adjusted at any angle, and the inner screen is no longer retractable like the previous generation, but uses a fixed solution similar to the Samsung Z Flip. The disassembly found that Motorola added a fully covered metal fixing sheet to the back of the flexible screen, and cooperated with the stainless steel mesh in the middle folded position. The two structures effectively reduce the pressure on the screen when it is folded, so that the screen crease is not as obvious as the previous generation.

In addition, the dismantling can also see that the Razr 2022’s battery adopts a split design. There is a 712mAh battery in the upper half of the fuselage and a 2,788mAh battery in the lower half. The outputs of the two are 2.8Wh and 10.9Wh respectively. With the mobile phone using the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, the manufacturer specially selected thermal paste, copper blocks and copper sheets as the heat dissipation solution.
