Design and connectivity
Motorola Moto G14
As we have two more modest devices here, their construction is entirely made of plastic. The Moto uses a finish that imitates leather or a conventional matte like the sides, depending on the color. The Galaxy goes for a lid with textured lines and sides with glossy paint.
These cell phones follow more expensive ones in the rear. The G14 uses a square block that highlights the lenses, while the A14 5G leaves the cameras positioned individually. Also, don’t expect any certification with protection once morest water and dust from them.
Samsung Galaxy A14 5G
Motorola’s laptop has a more compact and lighter body than Samsung’s, in addition to having a centralized hole notch, to give it a more modern appearance than the Korean rival’s teardrop layout. The similarity between them is due to the biometric reader, which is integrated into the power button.
Both still provide storage expansion, thanks to the triple drawer, which comes with a dedicated microSD card slot. They also offer fifth generation Wi-Fi, but do without NFC technology. The Korean’s Bluetooth 5.2 is more advanced than the competitor’s version 5.0.
With a more modern, compact and lightweight design, Motorola opens the scoring.

Bodies
Both feature an IPS LCD screen with Full HD+ resolution, which is pleasing in terms of definition for the basic segment. Even with this material, the Galaxy achieves a higher level of brightness than the Moto. Not to mention the A14’s 6.6-inch size, slightly larger than the rival’s 6.5-inch size. Even though it is smaller, the G14 is the one that offers the best frontal use.
You won’t find any technology in them that improves playback of streaming services, nor touch sensor improvements. At least, the Korean provides a refresh rate of 90 Hz, for better fluidity than the 60 Hz of the Motorola competitor.
Samsung leaves everything the same on the scoreboard.

As
Motorola was the only one of the duo to invest well in audio, placing a stereo system in its basic version. This means that using the call speaker as a secondary channel on her smartphone allows for greater immersion than the mono sound output present on the Samsung device.
The result is a clear superiority of the G14 over the A14, whether in greater sound power or in the better balance between bass, mids and treble. Both have a standard headphone connector, but the accessory is not included in the package.
The Moto takes note of the point through stereo sound.

System
These devices have Android 13 natively. Motorola promises an update to the “little robot” and two years of security packages for its entry-level model, while Samsung guarantees two major software updates and one year more than its rival in terms of monthly patches.
5G is only present on the A14, which ends up providing a faster mobile network than the G14’s LTE. The Moto has a cleaner system than its more advanced “brothers”, in the same way that the Galaxy has the One UI Core, as a leaner version of the brand’s interface. All this to achieve greater fluidity. Even so, the 90 Hz rate of the Korean panel gives an impression of superior smoothness.
In the resources part, you won’t find everything that the brands have in their respective portfolios. At least, the G14 still contains the classic gestures for turning on the flashlight and opening the camera, just as the A14 5G maintains the Edge Screen shortcuts.
Galaxy wins the group and takes the point.

Performance
The Moto comes equipped with Unisoc’s Tiger T616, versus the Exynos 1330 that powers the Galaxy. But what compromises performance here is the 4 GB of RAM. With this limited memory, we noticed in our tests that both end up having problems holding apps in the background. Even so, you will have greater speed in both rounds on the Korean cell phone.
We can also confirm this in the benchmarks. You can see that the A14 recorded a score around 58% higher than the G14. Their GPU isn’t capable of running the most complex titles at maximum, but you’ll have slightly better performance on the Galaxy.
In other words, the point goes to Samsung.

Battery
These cell phones come with a battery with the same capacity of 5,000 mAh. Does this mean they have the same duration? It’s not quite like that. In our standardized tests, the A14 5G showed a little more performance, with a battery life of almost 26 hours, two more than the G14.
Moving on to charging, the Moto comes with a 20 W TurboPower, which takes the same two hours to reach 100% as the 15 W adapter sent in the Galaxy box.
For superior autonomy, the point goes to Samsung.

Their photographic set is led by a 50 MP main sensor. But the quality of the images is not the same. The Moto isn’t as exciting in this regard, while the Galaxy takes photos with better contrast and dynamic range. The Korean still has the distinction of delivering superior night images for the category.
Their macro is only 2 MP and suffers from low resolution and a lack of autofocus. Only Samsung’s smartphone comes with a blur sensor, which works well and helps you take shots with fewer errors than Motorola’s software-only portrait mode.
With better results in practice, the point goes to Galaxy.

The camcorder on these cell phones does not exceed Full HD resolution at 30 fps. The Korean’s quality is better in colors and sound, as it is the only one to deliver stereo audio capture. It also has stabilization to deal with shakes, something that Motorola left out on its device. Their focus appears to be very agile.

The G14’s 8 MP front camera takes decent selfies, but it leaves your skin feeling smooth. Meanwhile, the 13 MP of the A14 gets the level of detail, colors, contrast and skin tone right.
The Galaxy still has a portrait mode without limiting HDR, which prevents the background from being blown out, as we see on the Moto. Not to mention the night selfies, which also look better on the Korean woman’s device. To top it off, the front footage of the two is nothing more than Full HD at 30 fps.
We have one more point for Samsung.

Both one and the other were officially launched in Brazil. The Moto G14 arrived on national soil for a suggested price of R$1,100, cheaper than the R$1,800 charged for the Galaxy A14 5G. In the current market, both appear for less than R$1,000. However, the Motorola model is still more affordable than Samsung’s at retail.
As any economy makes a difference in the consumer’s pocket, the G14 closes the duel with the last point.

Finished
In this clash between two entry-level cell phones, Samsung ended up overcoming Motorola with relative ease. The Korean proved to be superior in more points than its competitor and is certainly a more suitable option in the segment.
The Galaxy A14 5G offers a larger screen, with brighter and better fluidity; a system with greater longevity and compatible with 5G; faster multitasking performance; a battery with greater autonomy; and a superior set of cameras for rear photos, videos and selfies.
It remains for the Moto G14 to win in its most modern, compact and light design; and in the presence of stereo sound, which allows for greater power and superior quality. It is also available at a lower cost in the Brazilian market, but the small difference may not compensate for the additional benefits it will have in the Korean rival.

Motorola Moto G14: 3 POINTS
- More modern, compact and lightweight design
- stereo sound
- Lowest price in the current Brazilian market
Samsung Galaxy A14 5G: 7 POINTS
