What do future employers really want? The career Monitor 2023 shows how you can score points in applications.
Which skills are currently particularly important – and which are not? The career monitor documents this every year on the basis of a comprehensive survey. Around 1,500 HR managers were asked, among other things, what applicants can currently do to convince them the most.
The top 3 most in-demand skills will remain unchanged in 2023
Willingness to perform and commitment (79%) lead the ranking, followed by solution and goal orientation/hands-on mentality (74%) and networked thinking and working (74%).
When assessing application documents, human resources managers focus on relevant work experience (22%), closely followed by the motivation for the application (21%).
The letter of motivation is of particular importance: “It is still important because the motivation and the reason for the application are not always evident from the CV, especially in the case of lateral entry,” emphasizes one of the interviewees.
References play a particularly important role for only one percent of recruiters. Motivation is also important in job interviews, ranking third among the decisive factors following personality/authenticity and professional competence.
Incidentally, HR specialists are currently finding new employees mainly on the Internet, namely via online job markets, career websites or social media. Internal recruiting through personnel development is almost as important.
