The American street was abuzz a few months ago with a stabbing incident carried out by a 12-year-old girl once morest her 9-year-old brother, without clarifying the reasons for the crime at the time or what prompted the girl to do so.
However, the girl’s mother finally broke her silence, and for the first time revealed in a television interview that the accident was the result of her taking some medications, considering that the tragedy was like a “madness episode,” according to her description.
The mother, April Lida, who lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma, explained to NewsNation that what caused her daughter’s violent behavior was due to her taking a drug that treats ADHD (hyperactivity and distraction) before the crime.
I took medication
The girl had been on this drug for five years, but stopped when she started studying from home during the Corona pandemic.
Lida said that when she returned to school last year and her grades began to slip, she went back to taking medication at the recommendation of the school and doctors.
She also added that she then stopped when she started cutting herself and did not specify which medicine her daughter was taking.
About her relationship with her brother, she said, “She loved him and he loved her. She has no idea why she did that.”

In addition, she indicated that her daughter is sad and feels very guilty, but she still does not understand why she did this, indicating that she was not herself when the stabbing was committed.
Leda said her daughter did not display any violent or aggressive behavior in the days leading up to the killing, but the family learned from comments she had made to friends in advance regarding having thoughts of stabbing her brother.

It is noteworthy that the stabbing occurred last January, when the Tulsa Police Department said that the 12-year-old girl woke her mother and told her that she had just stabbed her brother, and the boy was taken to the hospital, where he died.
