Mom is gone! A farmer in Miaoli County found two small stone tigers on the edge of the field. The farmers were worried that the small stone tigers would be attacked by other animals, so they took the small stone tigers home and immediately notified the county agriculture department. The veterinary inspection found that the two small stone tigers were in good health, so they were sent back to the place where they were found, but the mother of the stone tigers never showed up. The two small stone tigers had to be sent to the Special Health Center of the Agricultural Committee for resettlement, and the small stone tigers might live independently. Then put it back into the wild. (Reported by Peng Qingren)
The Agriculture Department of the Miaoli County Government stated that it is now spring and the breeding season of wild animals has entered once more. The county government has recently found a significant increase in the number of reported cases of young birds and beasts. Last weekend, some people found two small stone tigers by their own fields. They were worried that the two cute little stone tigers would be attacked by other animals, so they took the small stone tigers home and immediately called the county agriculture department. After inspection by the veterinarian, the two little stone tigers were in good health, so they were sent back to their original places to wait for the mother of the stone tigers to bring them back. However, the mother Shihu never showed up. The Agriculture Department only transferred the two little Shihus to the Special Biological Research Center of the Agricultural Committee for placement and care. After the little Shihus might live independently, they would be released back into the wild.
The Agriculture Department reminds that if you encounter a small stone tiger, you should first determine whether there is an immediate danger, such as whether there are dogs on the side of the road or nearby. If the scene is a safe environment, the female stone tiger may only leave temporarily for food and will come back following a while. It is best not to disturb or move the small stone tiger, especially avoid touching the small stone tiger to avoid leaving the smell. Except for Shihu, the handling of other cubs and birds is the same. Most of them are the mother temporarily leaving the scene. In fact, no human intervention is needed. It is best to let the small animal return to the mother’s side.
