The mother of Pérola Buffon, 2 years old, is struggling to get efficient treatment for her daughter. In December 2022, the girl was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and doctors found a cyst on the child’s head. The tumor was found between the adeno and the neurohypothesis, which are glands that work in the production of hormones.
However, although Pérola was hospitalized and underwent a series of tests in an attempt to discover the condition, it is still not known what she has. Barbara Buffon says that the doctors the family has consulted so far have not been able to diagnose what the child has. The only certainty is that the disease is rare.
Raffle to pay for treatment
The two are residents of the Santa Terezinha neighborhood, in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba. The family is looking for ways to pay for a treatment to find out what Pérola’s disease is. With that, came the mother’s idea to create a raffle.
Bárbara explains that due to the delay for a consultation at the Unified Health System (SUS), she wants to take her daughter to a consultation at the private health network. The raffle money would be used to pay for possible exams and medical consultations, in addition to travel to hospitals.
Those interested in helping can access the raffle page opened by the family. The raffle costs only R$ 0.10 and payment can be made through PIX.
