Mother and child (9) rescued from mountain distress in Pinzgau

The two holidaymakers probably got lost on the way to a waterfall and ended up in impassable terrain. An eleven-person mountain rescue team from the Zell am See district rescued the two unharmed and brought them back to the valley, police reported.

Missed the turnoff

The two said they wanted to visit a waterfall as part of a day of adventure together. On the way there, however, they must have missed a turnoff and ended up in increasingly steep terrain. The vacationers were not well equipped and had little mountain experience. At the top of a steep section, mother and daughter could no longer go any further and the 49-year-old finally called the emergency services.
