A man was denied boarding at Moscow Domodedovo Airport. In order to get to his destination anyway, he climbed into the hold of another jet.
He wasn’t allowed to get in. In mid-March, a 24-year-old was denied boarding at Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport on his Ural Airlines flight to his hometown of Kaliningrad. According to Russian media, he behaved in a provocative and overly emotional manner.
In order to get home anyway, the man gained access to the apron. His goal: the cargo hold of an Airbus A321 from S7 Airlines, which was also scheduled to fly to Kaliningrad. “Security officers at Domodedovo Airport detained the passenger when he tried to get into the luggage compartment of the plane, following which he was handed over to the police,” the airport told news portal MSK1.
Luggage was being loaded when a man came running
S7 said the incident happened while the luggage was being loaded. The employees noticed an unknown person approaching the plane. “He ran along the conveyor belt into the luggage compartment, inside he was immediately arrested by airport security officers, then handed over to the police and, according to our information, sent for a psychiatric evaluation,” S7 said.
Ural Airlines declined to comment on the incident. It is unclear how the man was able to get onto the apron and onto the plane. S7 flight S71215 to Kaliningrad took off and landed regarding two hours late following the incident because the aircraft had to be thoroughly searched once more beforehand.
