The four men accused of organizing the Moscow concert hall attack killing more than 140 people appeared in a Moscow court on Sunday on terrorism charges, showing signs of severe beatings. One appeared to be barely conscious during the hearing.
I am Dalerdzhon Mirzoyev, 32 years old; Saidakrami Rachabalizoda, 30; Shamsidin Fariduni, 25; and Mukhammadsobir Faizov, 19 years old. They are accused of committing a terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall in Moscow. The crime carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment.
Who are the four suspects
Dalerdzhon Mirzoyev is a citizen of Tajikistan with four children, state news agencies reported. Mirzoyev pleaded guilty. A second man, who had a large bandage over his ear, also pleaded guilty. His name is Rajabalizod Saidakrami, 30 years old. The other two suspects are Shamsidin Fariduni, 25, a migrant worker who works in a factory in Podolsk, Moscow region, and Muhammadsobir Faizov, 19, who works as a hairdresser in the city of Ivanovo, in central Russia’s northeast of Moscow.
Who confessed
According to Russian investigators, two of the suspects have accepted their guilt in the attack. The conditions of the men, however, leave doubt as to whether they spoke freely. There were also conflicting reports in the Russian media: according to other versions, three or all four men had pleaded guilty.
The Basmanny District Court in Moscow ordered the men, all identified in the media as citizens of Tajikistan, to be held in custody until May 22 pending investigation and trial.
