The hydrometeorological center announced a yellow level of weather danger in Moscow and the Moscow region. The warning is valid until 21:00 February 11 due to black ice. In addition, forecasters predict a blizzard for the weekend.
The scientific director of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand said that the snow will begin in the “afternoon hours” on Saturday, February 11. There will also be a decrease in pressure and temperature – from 0°C to -2°C. The wind will increase to 15 m/s. “The snow that will fall on Saturday and Sunday night will contribute to the fact that the height of the snowdrifts will increase by 5–10 cm,” Mr. Vilfand said. “RIA Novosti”.
The yellow level of weather danger is valid in almost all regions of the Central Federal District and in most regions of the western part of Russia. The orange level of danger has been declared in the Krasnoyarsk Territory (wind up to 33 m / s, heavy snow, snowstorm, avalanche risk in the mountains), Novgorod Region (heavy snow), in several regions of the North Caucasus Federal District (avalanche risk in the mountains, fog) and in Krasnoyarsk edge (avalanche risk, sleet).
