The runners will probably not have the time to appreciate the landscape and in particular the view of Lake Geneva at the start of the stage. On the other hand, the 15,000 cyclists who signed up for “L’Etape du Tour” which took place between Annemasse and Morzine were undoubtedly able to benefit more. The course really deserves it.

Morzine is an ideal starting point for setting off to conquer its passes. The mountain station offers a total of 16 mapped routes, totaling 1,200 kilometers of route, and 25 passes within a radius of 50 kilometers. For enthusiasts, it’s great.
The show promises to be beautiful also on television. The 14th stage of the Tour de France ends with the ascent of two passes around Morzine: the Col de la Ramaz and the famous and difficult Col de Joux Plane.
But it’s not just the bike. Morzine also communicates on the Trail of the Hauts-Forts which has had a makeover, a new logo, thanks to its 16th edition, which will take place on Saturday August 5th. Four mountain races, with a distance of between 23 and 50 km, with steep gradients will be offered to trail runners. More than cyclists, the latter will undoubtedly have more time to admire the magnificent landscapes of the Portes du Soleil.
A new experience in the Nyon area
In Morzine, at an altitude of 2,019 m, is the Nyon area where, since July 8, everyone can enjoy the ” Nyon Experience », a playful and educational set dedicated to hiking, contemplation and discovery of the mountain, its inhabitants and their activities. This place is intended to be a place of meetings and activities to have fun and learn about the fauna, flora and alpine pastures with various activities offered by “Le Monde de Jacquotte” with new “Goat agility” as well as a hike around the old alpine chalets. Walkers can also learn more about bees with an educational hive, a photo exhibition on alpine flowers… Finally, everyone has the opportunity to discover the immensity of the Alps with the famous “Pas de l’Aigle”. A glass walkway that offers a nearly 360° panorama with a breathtaking view between Mont-Blanc and Lake Geneva. The “Pas de l’Aigle” is accessible via the Pointe de Nyon chairlift or on foot for the most seasoned hikers.

On the heights of Morzine, The Sheepfold 4* lives to the rhythm of the seasons welcoming summer and winter sports enthusiasts and lovers of fresh air. Mountain biking in the lead with 80 km of mountain biking trails that connect the slopes of Morzine to the Portes du Soleil area. In summer, the region becomes a mecca for climbing, combining classic routes such as the Pointe de Nyon and pretty viewpoints from the summit of Mont Blanc.
