Mortal Kombat 12 will not be announced at EVO 2022, confirms Ed Boon

This weekend is the tournament EVO 2022 and PlayStation — today the owner of the event — has already announced that there will be important announcements from different fighting game publishers. Except maybe one: Mortal Kombat.

In a post on his Twitter account, the famous producer of the Mortal Kombat franchise, Ed Boonadvanced in a very informal way that a new installment will not appear this year at EVO.

It’s time for Street Fighter and other great fighting games to shine in the sun Boon commented on the tweet. The supposed unveiling of a new MK came from a fairly generic post by IGNin which they predicted “announcements from the developers of Street Fighter, Tekken, Mortal Kombat and Guilty Gear”.

It has not yet been confirmed that NetherRealmEd Boon’s studio, is already working on a possible Mortal Kombat 12, but VentureBeat journalist Jeff Grubb stated in August that he had reliable information regarding this project.
