Despite being emptied of real stars due to the Hollywood actors’ strike, San Diego Comic Con continues to take place, packed with fans and also with attractions that do not depend on the artists. In this case, one of the highlights was the trailer for Mortal Kombat 1, a game that marks a new cycle for the franchise, and which in a new video presents the lethal Umgadi warriors.
The highlight is for the already known Baraka, Li Mei and Tanya. The trailer shows some of the characters’ moves, as well as fatalities that can be performed in the game launches September 19 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
The game has been available for pre-order since May. The price of the game is BRL 279.90 for PC and BRL 299.90 for consoles. Those who pre-order will receive as a bonus the playable character Shang Tsung, the sorcerer who can transform into other fighters, and access to the game’s beta, which will take place in August. The official launch of the game is scheduled for September 19, 2023.
Mortal Kombat 1 is a direct sequel to Mortal Kombat 11, but in an alternate universe created by Liu Kang, who became the God of Fire following defeating Kronika, the guardian of time. In this new scenario, Liu Kang rewrote the history of the franchise in order to avoid some tragedies and injustices that marked the previous games.
