Al-Marsad newspaper: An Egyptian court decided to reduce the prison sentence of Mortada Mansour, president of Zamalek Club, from one year to an enforceable month, in the case of accusing him of insulting and defaming Al-Ahly club president Mahmoud Al-Khatib.

The legal advisor of Al-Ahly Club, Muhammad Othman, explained the details of the ruling, noting that the Economic Court considered two cases once morest Mortada Mansour for insulting the preacher.

Al-Ahly’s legal advisor confirmed that the prison sentence is a month in presence, which must be implemented, and the Ministry of Interior must arrest Mortada Mansour, or the latter surrenders himself to the enforcement authorities to imprison him for a month.

Osman indicated that Mortada Mansour and his defense did not attend today’s sentencing session, and this does not mean that he was in absentia because the case was reserved for judgment, and Mansour pleaded before and following that a decision was issued to extend the judgment for today’s session.

For his part, the president of Zamalek Club, Mortada Mansour, commented on the decision of the Economic Court, and the judge imprisoned him for a month with work and enforcement, and “Mansour” shared a video of him playing a table tennis match with Sherif Hussein, Deputy Executive Director of Zamalek Club, and attached the video with the phrase He said: “I am not indebted to you for what your generation has spent,” referring to his indifference to the ruling issued once morest him.

For his part, a legal source indicated that the only way out in front of “Mansour” for not being imprisoned was to reconcile with Mahmoud Al-Khatib, explaining that insult and slander cases may be reconciled in accordance with the text of Article 18B, and that once the two parties reconcile, the penalties for him fall immediately.
